Trolley Dances 2014, presented by San Diego Dance Theater – Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27 & 28, Oct. 4 & 5. Kids on Board Day Friday, Sept. 26.

The 16th annual dance adventure gives transit a twist. Tours start at City College and run 10 am to 1:45 pm. to see site specific dance along the tracks.

“The Engagement Ring – Series 1 ‘On the Spot’” presented by Malashock Dance – Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014. The new program is a series of free dance events designed to heighten the impact of the audience experience through dance that makes connections via inclusions and interactions. At Dance Place.

San Francisco Trolley Dances 2014, presented by Kim Epifano and Epiphany Productions – Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 & 19.  415-226-1139

“Seven Beauties” presented by San Diego Ballet – Saturday, October 11th at 7:30pm. Civic Theatre. A U.S. premiere, the global collaboration brings together the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture & Tourism, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, and the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra. The event is free to the public. Reserve tickets to guarantee seats.

Kris Eitland

Kris Eitland covers dance and theater for and freelances for other publications, including the Union Tribune and Dance Teacher Magazine. She grew up performing many dance styles and continued intensive modern dance and choreography at the Univ. of Minnesota, Duluth, and San Diego State Univ. She also holds a journalism degree from SDSU. Her career includes stints in commercial and public radio news production. Eitland has won numerous Excellence in Journalism awards for criticism and reporting from the San Diego Press Club. She has served on the Press Club board since 2011 and is a past president. She is a co-founder of She has a passion for the arts, throwing parties with dancing and singing, and cruising the Pacific in her family's vintage trawler. She trains dogs, skis, and loves seasonal trips to her home state of Minnesota.
