“Trust the process” is the theme of many successful projects. In the case of Chance Theater’s productions of The Laramie Project and The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, that theme might be revised to read, “Trust the process; trust the text.”

“Piranesi, Rome, and the Arts of Design” is very much like “The Rocky Horror Show.” Like the musical’s pivotal gender bending mad genius character Frank ‘N’ Furter who continuously alters his persona, Giambattista Piranesi (1720-1778) was also a mad genius who perpetually had to alter his persona from architect to printer and an influential designer of the Rococo and Neoclassical periods to finally become an architectural historian.

Art Fest Reflections; Dance Bonanza Continues

April’s been a good month for dance, and the run isn’t over yet. The bonanza included two nights of Alvin Ailey at Copley Symphony Hall (April 9 and 10, both reviewed by Sandiegostory.com) and 12 nights of eclectic performances at the White Box Live Arts Fest (April 5-21).
