Award ‘Best of Show Websites’

October 30, 2018 San Diego, CA – For the 4th consecutive year, this site – sandiegostory.com – was awarded “Best Entertainment Website” by the San Diego Press Club at the 45th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards – but wait, there was more.
As always, no one in San Diego had a say. Press clubs from around the country review and judge all the entries for all the categories including newspapers, magazines, TV and radio and even public relations. The San Diego club returns the favor, passing judgement on entries from cities around the country.
All the first place entries were gathered together and judged. This year, SanDiegoStory.com was awarded “Best of Show Websites”. Here’s what the judges had to say:
“This team of arts writers has created a useful and valuable resource for sorting through the arts events happening in San Diego. The site is easy to navigate, with straightforward graphics and easy searching. Each writer seems to have a beat, but they each have their own style and the diversity is part of the value here.” – the judges

The event, held at the Joe and Vi Jacobs Center at Market Creek in National City, begins with food and wine samples from near 25 wineries, restaurants, caterers and other vendors. When the time for awards come, the Wild Card, Body of Work, Best of Show and Rising Star presentations are sprinkled between three special awards for outstanding individuals in the press community.
